PROFIBUS DP (Process Field Bus - Decentralized Peripherals) is a worldwide standard open architecture communication networ for field bus communication in automation technology and it is used to operate sensors and actuators via a centralized controller in production technology.


Profibus has three sub-protocols: Profibus-DP, Profibus-FMS and Profibus-PA.
Profibus-DP is applicable to data transmission between host controller (PC, PLC, etc.)
Profibus-DP uses a physical layer based on RS-485 standard, which is a two-line differential system with extremely strong capability to restrain electromagnetic interference.
Profibus-DP usually works in master-slave mode.

In order to facilitate PROFIBUS-DP field bus user to integrate Googol motion controller quickly, Googol Technology develops a PROFIBUS-DP field bus standard network interface module. User can connect the PC104 standard bus connector (pins) of the module with a motion controller having the same connector (socket) to form a motion controller with PROFIBUS-DP field bus network interface, which can be directly integrated into PROFIBUS-DP field bus network control system through GSD files. User can also program to develop motion controller through former PROFIBUS-DP field bus system developing tools.
